Nicholas Verdura, MD, FACS, CWS-P


Medical Director of Advanced Wound Care & General Surgery


Dr. Nicholas Verdura brings more than 20 years of experience in advanced wound care and general surgery to Confidia Health Institute. Double board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Wound Management as a Certified Wound Specialist - Physician, he is recognized for his expertise in minimally invasive techniques, gastrointestinal procedures, and comprehensive wound management.

Dr. Verdura completed his surgical fellowship at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, where he specialized in advanced laparoscopic and gastrointestinal surgery. In addition to his clinical work, he has served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Quinnipiac University’s Frank H. Netter School of Medicine and the University of CT School of Medicine, sharing his knowledge and passion for patient-centered care with the next generation of physicians.


Throughout his career, Dr. Verdura has developed and led multiple wound care programs across Connecticut, including the creation of several wound care centers with Hartford Healthcare. His reputation as a trusted referral source among providers reflects his dedication to clinical excellence and collaborative care.

As a lifelong Connecticut resident, Dr. Verdura is proud to serve the Southington community. He is committed to bringing hospital-level wound care and surgical expertise into a welcoming, local setting — ensuring patients receive the highest quality care close to home.
